Project Overview
The redevelopment of the former Hub Hosiery and McQuade mill buildings, with a cumulative gross square area of approximately 210,000 SF, into a multi-family development consisting of 183 market rate apartment units. These two historic buildings were originally constructed in circa (1870-1909 era) and represent the last significant phase of the redevelopment of the former Lawrence Mills Complex. During the early part of the 20th century, the Lawrence Mills Complex consisted of over 1 million square feet and it was a significant part of Lowell's textile industry. Located in close proximity to the Tsongas Arena, the LaLacheur baseball park and UMass-Lowell's North Campus, the redevelopment of these historic structures is now playing an important role in the re-genesis of Lowell from a 20th century industrial center to a mixed-use, urban center.
